About Us
"For want of a nail the shoe was lost; for want of a shoe
the horse was lost; for want of a horse the rider was lost;
for want of a rider the battle was lost."
Proverb
Simply stated, this proverb tells us that for want of a simple object, much can ultimately be lost.
VillageConnect.org was formed to help prevent students from being "lost" for want of a book, or a museum ticket, or good nutrition at home, for example. The stakes are much higher than they appear at first glance, as James Baldwin understood in the passage that marks this website.
That is where you come in. Members of this website are committed to the futures of our school children. Educators recognize the needs of their students better than anyone, and despite regularly sacrificing from their own pockets for the children, many needs remain. Community members and businesses participating in this website understand the link between the horseshoe nail and the loss in battle, metaphorically speaking, and are in a position to do something about it.
VillageConnect.org provides a forum for bringing these Member groups together, at no charge. Welcome, and thank you.
